Eric Bana was born on August 9, 1968 in the city of Melbourne, Australia and is famous comedian and actor of mixed descent. His father was a Croatian, and his mother was born in Germany. He grew up in Melbourne’s suburban area and went to Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School. When he was aged between seven or six, Eric started doing impressions of members of his family and would mimic his grandfather’s mannerisms. He often got in trouble when he did the same for his teachers in school. His interest in acting was inspired by Mad Max, Mel Gibson’s 1979 film that he watched when he was a teenager. Even so, it was not until 1991 that he ventured into a career in acting where he doubled as stand-up gig comedian in pubs and also waited tables at Melbourne’s Castle Hotel.

First, he debuted on Steve Vizard’s talk show and piqued the interest of the directors of the sketch comedy show named Full Frontal. They sought his involvement as a writer and performer. Bana drew his writing material and characters from his own family. He became renowned for his hilarious impressions of Tom Cruise, Columbo, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger and in 1994 he recorded Out of Bounds, which was a comedy album. By 1996, he was hosting his own television special known as Eric, which culminated into The Eric Bana Show for which he received a Logie Award for Most Popular Media Personality despite its cancellation after eight episodes. His film debut was in The Castle. He went on to star in the film in 2000 which marked his breakthrough, and he garnered multiple awards for his performance. Soon, Bana gained progressive recognition in Hollywood from his performances in the Black Hawk Down and the lead role Hulk alongside Jennifer Connely. From there Bana’s stardom rose higher with his impeccable portrayal of Hector in Troy, the lead role in Steven Spielberg’s thriller Munich and science-fiction villain Nero in Star Trek, in 2009. Other notable films in his acting career include Funny People, The Time Traveler’s Wife, Lucky You and Hanna. In 2014, he was cast as Ralph Sarchie in the horror film Deliver Us From Evil.
