The US-based famous actor and director George Clooney was born on May 6th, 1961 in Kentucky, US. His acting debut started in 1978, but he had experience just at the age of 5 years by playing as a sketch character on a local TV show that his father hosted. The Clooney family was involved in the entertainment industry with his father being a TV host and anchor and the Aunt Rosemary Clooney a known actress and singer.

Clooney went back to the limelight while in Hollywood, when he played recurring roles in movies like Facts of Life from 1985 to 1987, and making guest artist appearances in Roseanne from 1988 to 1991. He later on went to feature in the 1992 investigative series Bodies of Evidence that didn’t last for long before going off the air. Later the same year he went on to feature in the drama Sisters. In 1993, he played a minor role in the movie thriller The Harvest. However, Clooney urged for more even though he got himself a substantial amount of airplay. It was in 1994 when his big break came when he played as Dr. Doug Ross in the NBC drama ER, which had a medical theme. This breakthrough made him become a sensational hit wonder, and many film producers were keeping a close eye on him. He appeared in several episodes of the ER before embarking into other successful movies such as From Dusk to Dawn (1996), the comedy One Fine Day (1996), blockbuster Batman & Robin (1997) that was a huge success which had sold for over $107 million. He went on to act alongside big names such as Jennifer Lopez in the film Out of Sight (1998) and later on, he played a role in the war movie The Thin Red Line.

George Clooney later on in 1999 he returned to act in the ER on a full-time basis. He later featured in the Persian War story movie, Three Kings (1999) featuring other heavyweights Ice Cube and Mark Wahlberg. In the next year, he starred in the drama O Brother, Where Art Thou? It was due this movie that Clooney was awarded with the Golden Globe award for effectively retelling the poem The Odyssey. Later in 2000 he worked with Wahlberg again to act in the movie The Perfect Storm, based on the novel by Sebastian Jungers. Ocean Eleven (2001) was the hit movie he did with other well known celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Bernie Mac, Julia Roberts and Matt Damon. The movie was successful and due to its success it released two sequels, Oceans Twelve and Ocean Thirteen. 2002 was not so successful for Clooney with the film Confession of Dangerous Mind that has poor reviews. However, George continued doing behind the scene act ivies, and he eventually directed and produced the politically instigated movie Syrianna (2004), in which he also played as a supporting actor. His effort was rewarded by winning the Best Supporting Actor in the Academy Award in 2005 for the film Syrianna apart from being nominated for his role in movies such as Good Night, and Good Luck in 2004 where he was nominated for the best director and best original screenplay that also had a political theme.

In 2009, he starred in the Up in the Air film before doing political The Idles of March (2011) movie where he uniquely managed to be the star, co-writer and director at the same time. It was the same year he significantly starred in the film The Descendants (2011) where he got win a Golden Globe award for the movie. An Academy Award for Best Picture went his way after producing Argo (2013) which featured Ben Affleck and was also politically themed. In the same year, Clooney acted in the film Gravity (2013) and in the next year he directed and featured in the movie The Monuments Men (2014). In 2015, George Clooney was awarded the Cecil B.DeMille Award by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for his exemplary work in the movie industry. The outspoken Clooney has been involved in humanitarian activities and fundraising for the 9/11 World Trade bombing victims and Hurricane Katrina Response Funds. He also is involved in political and social awareness activities in Sudan and inhuman activities in the war-stricken Darfur areas by showing the situation on the ground to the UN Security Council. His efforts has seen him together with Don Cheadle been awarded the Noble Peace Prize in Rome and also he got to be the U.N Special peace envoy

Clooney has also been famously known for his good looks and was dubbed twice by The People Magazine as the “Sexiest Man Alive” and the “Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor” in 2014. He got engaged to the renowned lawyer Alamudin and wedded in September 2014 in Venice.
