The young Georgie Henley was born on July 9th 1995 in the town known as Ilkley, situated in West Yorkshire, England. She is the last born daughter of Mike and Helen Henley. It was when she was in her tender age when Georgie involved herself in acting activities where she joined a drama team known as the “Upstagers”. It is here, where she did stage performances such as “The Pied Piper” and “Babushka: A Christmas Story” before doing major film acting.

During the auditioning of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), Georgie was automatically selected for the role of Lucy from more than a thousand girls in the town of Ilkley after 18 months of the tedious selection process by the casting director Pippa Hall. This was considered as a breakthrough for the ten-year-old into the movie industry with this first debut. Georgie also appeared in stage performances while acting Babes in the Wood in 2006 by her local theatre group. Later on, she continued with film sequels such as The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008) and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010). This made Georgie an instant sensation and brand image of the three movies that were considered to be successful. Due to success of the films, Georgie Henley was recognized for her efforts and was awarded the Phoenix Film Critics Award in the category of Best Performance by a Youth Female in a Lead or Supporting Role for Best Performance in a Feature.

Georgie went on to get a break and was able to clear her GCSE from Bradford Grammar School and was selected to join Cambridge University in the fall of 2013. Apparently, she hung her boots from the “Upstagers” club but she is yet to continue with her acting career in major films. She also has interests in music and writing, which she hopes to explore since she initially wrote “Pillar of Secrets” and “Snow Stag” that she later donated to WWF.
