Hilarie Ross Burton is an American actress who was born on 1st of July 1982 and was raised in Sterling, Virginia. She graduated from Park View High School in 2000 before joining New York University and later Fordham University. Burton was the homecoming queen during her final year at Park View and the head cheerleader. She was the student council president at Park View High School from 1999 to 2000. She had also acted as a vice president from 1998 to 1999 together with being a treasurer for the same student council from 1997 to 1998.

Burton had her first breakthrough in acting when she worked as a VJ for Total Request Live, a television show on MTV. She had been invited as a guest commentator for one segment, but the producers later decided to offer her a permanent job. She also had a small part on Dawson’s Creek, which was a TV series. Her role in Dawson’s Creek led to her given another role by Peyton Sawyer on the TV series One Tree Hill. She made her film Debut in the famous movie Our Very Own, a film that was screened at the prestigious Sarasota Film Festival. The film saw Burton being awarded a special prize for “Outstanding Ensemble Acting”. In addition to this, the film was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award.

In the year 2007, Hilarie Burton started Southern Gothic Productions, which was a movie production company. In 2008, Burton featured in an independent movie dubbed The List as Jo Johnson. The film was released on 25th April 2008. In The Secret Life of Bees, another movie she played, she featured as Deborah Owens, who was Lily Owens’ mother. In January of 2009, Burton was cast in the famous drama Bloodworth together with Hilary Duff and Val Kilmer. The filming of this movie took place in Wilmington, North Carolina in April and May of the same year. She has also featured in various movie since then. On January 23, 2012, she guest-starred on the ABC police comedy-drama dubbed Castle. In May 2013, she had a recurring role in the ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy for the final three episodes of the series’ ninth season. In August the same year, Hilarie Burton was given a recurring role on CBS drama dubbed Hostages though the drama lasted for a short while.
