Kevin Bacon was born on July 8, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Ruth Hilda, a school teacher, and Edmund Norwood Bacon, a renowned architect who was the cover of Time Magazine in November 1964. Completing high school, Kevin Bacon worked in Philadelphia’s Manning Street Actors’ Theatre School. He received a prestigious Pennsylvania Governors school scholarship for arts at the age of 16. After one year, he moved to New York to pursue an acting career full-time, and he made his professional theatre debut immediately over there.

In 1978, he appeared in his first film ‘Animal House’ whereas he performed the role of a strict chip dealer. For next few years, he had to struggle with his career. Later, he became famous in New York theatre scene; eventually, he won an Obie Award for his performance in the play called ‘Forty Deduce’. His popularity started to spread out when he appeared in the film, ‘Diner’ in 1982. Howbeit, performing in “Footloose”, in 1984, he gained enormous popularity. Since then, he has been working continuously appearing such projects :‘Planes, Trains, and Automobiles’, “The River Wild”, “JFK”, “The Big Picture”, “Hollow Man”, “Apollo 13”, “Mystic River”, and “X-Men: FirstClass” etc.

One of the most successful roles of Bacon in 1990 was a benevolent character who rescued his country from monsters in the horror/comedy film ‘Tremors’. On the other hand, another successful movie, where Kevin performed in 1990, was a role of a medical student experimenting with death in Joel Schumacher’s “Flatliners”. He acted in Paul Verhoeven’s ‘Hollow Man” back in 2000.

Bacon won a Golden Globe award, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and nominated for so many prestigious awards like Emmy. He received a star on Hollywood Walk of fame back in 2003. After meeting Kyra Sedgwick in on the set of ‘Lemon Sky’, Bacon got married to her (Kyra) in 1988. The family resides in upper west sides of Manhattan and they have one son, Travis Bacon (1989), and one daughter, Sosie Bacon (1992). Prior marrying with Kyra Sedgwick, Bacon lived together with Tracy Pollan from 1979 to 1987. Later, Tracy Pollan married to another actor Michael J. Fox.
