Hillary Scott, real name Hillary Dawn Scott-Tyrrell, was born on April 1, 1986 in Nashville, Tennessee. She is an American singer and a songwriter. She specializes in country music, leading a group called Lady Antebellum which was formed in 2006. Her mother, Linda Davis was a country music singer while her father, Lang Scott, was a musician and a businessman. After being homeschooled for some time, she joined Donelson Christian Academy for elementary school as well as high school. She has a younger sister called Rylee. She got interested in music in performing alongside her mother on a Christmas day.
She worked with singer Victoria Shaw after high school where she gained some fame. Hillary went to American Idol auditions twice but was not picked. She met one of her future bandmate, Charles Kelly. In a bar in May 2006. She had been listening to Kelly’s music on Myspace, so she immediately recognized him and after talking for some time, they decided to work together. They were joined by Dave Haywood later. The first song they did was All We’d Ever Need. This led to the formation of the band Lady Antebellum where Scott is the lead singer.
The band was formed in 2006. The first song they released was entitled Love Don’t Live Here.It was a hit as it peaked at position 3 in Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in 2008. They released their first album on April 15, 2008 titled Lady Antebellum. It did very well in the market. It was number 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart in July 2009. Their single, I Run To Youbecame number one on the Hot Country Songs the same year.
Scott has featured in a song titled Do I by Luke Bryan where she did the background vocals. She recorded a duet called Christmas Tonight alongside Dave Barnes. She wrote a song titled A Little Bit Stronger and did harmony vocals in September 2010. It was used widely in a film called Country Strong in 2010.
Hillary Scott married Chris Tyrrel on January 7, 2012. He is a drummer based in Nashville. They met in college when their bands performed on the same show. They purchased a 7,600 square feet home Brentwood in August 2012. He announced in an interview on December 7, 2012 that they were expecting a child.
