Leighton Marissa Meester is an American actress and singer who was born in 1986 to Constance and Douglas Meester in Forth Worth, Texas State in the United States.
It was unfortunate that when she was born her mother was serving a sentence in jail for participating in marijuana smuggling ring. Due to this she spent her early life with the grandparents in Marco Island, Florida.
At Florida, she was involved with local playhouse and first appeared on stage in “The Wizard of Oz” production. She is fluent both in English and French. Meester attended Beverly Hills School located in the Beverly Hills in California.
At the age of eleven, Meester moved to New York together with his mother and she soon started to work as a model and oftenly appeared in the TV commercials.
At the age of 14, Meester and her mother moved to Los Angeles and there she began picking up in the TV work and made her debut in an episode of the Law and Order: Disciple in 1999.
She has played various roles in acting as stated herein. She is known best for her role in the Gossip Girl series where she acted as Blair Waldorf, this largely forms the basis of her fame.
She also appeared in many other movies including Oranges, That’s My Boy and Country Strong.
In 2001, she landed guest spots in the Boston Public. In 2003, she acted in Hangman’s Curse as Elisha Springfield. In 2005, she played the role of Savannah Bennet in the Surface series.
The actress is also a musician who has produced various songs including but not limited to Run Away (2014), Sweet (2014), Blue Afternoon (2014), Entitled (2014), The Stand In (2012), On My Side (2014) and Dreaming (2014).
